Inter-Cultural Family Fun Day

Tue 15 Mar 2011
The Sri Lankan Islamic Association (SLIA), a UK registered charity, organised a community based event in Southal.

It focused on religion, culture and family entertainment and took place at Chaudhry’s TKC in Southall on Sunday 13th of March 2011.

The event ran from 1 pm to 5 pm with food being served around 2 pm.

There were many activities for children and adults. An entertainer kept the children amused with balloons, face painting and leading the fun activities.

A stall by Ealing Local Enrolment Network (Ealing Link) provided information about its services. There was also a henna artist creating beautiful henna designs for everyone.

The Community Leaders forum/discussion took place around 4 pm focusing on current problems and how to move forward.

Mr Gupta of the Hindu Association summed it up by saying that "the end goal for all of us is the same. The routes we take may be different but the destination is the same. We should focus on our commonalties, which we have a lot of, rather than our differences."
