Southall drug dealer guilty of Strawberry Hill murder
Tue 14 Apr 2026
Dino Donaldson, of Caxton Road, Southall, was found guilty at the Old Bailey of killing Anojan Gnaneswaran during an incident at Strawberry Hill railway station on 8 January 2024.
The court heard that the violence followed a dispute between two groups over a drug transaction involving a relatively small sum of money. During the confrontation, Gnaneswaran was pushed onto the tracks and stabbed multiple times. He died at the scene.
Prosecutors presented footage showing Donaldson on public transport less than an hour after the attack, appearing relaxed. Additional evidence included recorded comments in which he described the stabbing.
Police later arrested Donaldson at a property in west London, where he was found hiding. Officers also recovered quantities of Class A drugs from the address.
Following a unanimous verdict, he has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 19 June 2026.
A senior officer from British Transport Police said the case showed how a confrontation escalated into a fatal act of violence, highlighting the devastating consequences of carrying weapons.
Gnaneswaran’s family described him as a dedicated student in his final year of an accounting and finance degree, with a strong passion for sport. He had achieved a black belt in karate and had competed internationally. They said he had been looking forward to his future and would be deeply missed.
