Hanwell Carnival returns to Elthorne Park on Saturday 20 June after a year's break, bringing a packed programme of live music, family entertainment, community activities and fundraising back to Hanwell.

The carnival is returning in 2026 after organisers took a year out to regroup and raise vital funds to help secure the future of the long-running community event. While the traditional parade will not take place this year, the rest of the festivities will go ahead, with organisers promising a bigger and better event.

First held in 1898, Hanwell Carnival attracts thousands of visitors each year and is organised entirely by local volunteers with support from sponsors and community partners. The free event remains one of the largest community celebrations in West London.

Visitors can enjoy two music stages, a community stage, a funfair with rides and inflatables, children's entertainers, carnival games, a large craft tent, charity and community stalls, and a wide variety of food vendors. There will also be a popular dog show, a dog training Q&A session, and opportunities to meet donkeys and other animals.

A fully licensed bar will be available throughout the day, and visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drink.

The festivities run from 12pm to 6pm, with attractions and activities taking place throughout the afternoon. Music performances begin at midday, while community performances continue on a dedicated stage later in the day.

The carnival also provides an important platform for local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups, helping raise awareness and funds while bringing residents together.

Run by the community for the community, Hanwell Carnival continues a tradition that has brought local people together for more than 125 years.
