Have your say on Spikes Bridge Park
Fri 15 Jul 2011
The council is working with two local charities, London Tigers and Southall Community Alliance, to develop a vision for the site.
This includes a range of multi-sport and recreation facilities for use by the whole community.
Options being considered for the popular park include a new pavilion with changing rooms, as well as an artificial-turf football pitch and new cricket training facilities.
The plans also propose creating a community space for indoor sports and activities such as martial arts, aerobics and healthy living classes.
Leader of the council, Councillor Julian Bell, said: "Lots of residents, young and old, already use the park. We hope the plans will encourage new users and give those committed users some great new and improved facilities to enjoy."
"This consultation is a great way to get your ideas and comments about the park’s current usage and facilities over to the officers who will be taking this project forward."
The improvements and new facilities being considered for the park will cost approximately £2 million to deliver.
Ealing Council has committed £300,000 to the project. It is also supporting the London Tigers, a sports club and community project, and Southall Community Alliance, a charitable organisation, with their bids to secure the significant external funding still required to deliver the project.
