The Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday. The mosques will be overflowing with worshippers in the morning, with 4 services at each mosque starting as early as 7.30 am.

In the evening traffic restrictions will be in force to tackle any anti-social behaviour.

Local Police Officers will ensure that those people who are celebrating can do so safely, peacefully and without unwelcome disturbances, whilst at the same time minimising the disruption caused to other communities, residents, businesses and transport systems.

Driving into Southall should be avoided as traffic exclusion zones will be in place in the evening. Even residents will have to carry some form of identity or other document to be allowed into the zone.

If you are intending to observe the occasion at a restaurant in Southall, you will need to "bring details of your booking" if you are using your own car.

Anyone who intends to visit family or friends during the celebrations of EID-UL-FITR in the Southall, is encouraged to use public transport.
