Won’t be going to Southall again

Tue 17 Jun 2008
This is the sentiment of one visitor from Suffolk, who was passing through Southall.

At the weekend, Tara Bookal visited Southall and fancied popping into McDonalds on Southall Broadway for a bite to eat.

There was a long queue, so Tara decided to give it a few minutes for the queue to “clear out a little” and crossed to the other side of Southall Broadway to buy some fruit.

On returning immediately to McDonalds within “2 minutes”, Tara had already been clamped. She was informed that if she did not pay £100 within 20 minutes, she would incur further charges.

On payment of £100 the car was unclamped. On being informed of their disgraceful tactic, the clampers threatened to clamp the car again.

Tara wants to know if “anybody is doing anything about these rogue clampers” and is “McDonalds aware” of these disgraceful tactics.

Everybody has been aware of this over-handed money grabbing tactics for a very long time but so far no one in authority is prepared to regulate these hoodlums.

And we all know that McDonalds don’t make any money out of clamping customers!
