Southall Safety Surgery
Wed 30 Jan 2008Due to the recent high number of burglaries in Southall, the Council is warning residents to be on the look out for strangers hanging around their homes and to make sure their homes are as secure as possible.
Community Safety officers will be on hand at the surgery, being held at Southall Library from 4-7pm, to give residents information and advice about protecting their cars and homes from thieves. Residents will be given Smart Water kits to mark their property and anyone over the age of 70 can request a free intercom system and spy hole to be fitted to make them less vulnerable.
Councillor Sue Emment, Cabinet Member for Safer Communities, said: “We are very worried about the number of burglaries and car thefts which have taken place. Unfortunately Southall is one of the hot spot areas and the Council wants to do everything it can to keep residents safe.
“We would urge residents, especially those who are feeling particularly vulnerable to go along to the surgery and let us help you feel safer.”
The surgeries take place on a monthly basis and are an opportunity for residents to find out more information.
