Two charged over death of e-bike rider in North Kensington

One of those charged is a 17-year-old boy from the Southall area, who cannot be named because he is under 18. The second defendant is 19-year-old Charles Egonye, of Wulfstan Street, Shepherd’s Bush.
The pair are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court following their charges on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
The case relates to an incident on North Pole Road in the early hours of Friday, 25 September. Police were called at about 1.20am after Mr Abdelhalim was found seriously injured.
Paramedics and police officers attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe Mr Abdelhalim had been travelling on an e-bike and was being followed by a moped shortly before the fatal incident.
The two defendants were arrested on Monday, 28 September, as detectives continued investigating the circumstances surrounding Mr Abdelhalim’s death.
Mr Abdelhalim’s family are being supported by specialist officers. Police are still seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or knows anything that could assist the investigation.
