Southall Stories — Public Art Project Launch

The project features a series of artworks installed across Southall, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to see the neighbourhood from a different perspective and discover some of the creative work taking place locally.
The launch on Thursday 10 September 2026 will include a guided art trail, an exhibition, creative workshops, music and refreshments. The programme begins at Southall Station before moving on to the Dominion Centre & Library.
Event Programme
3pm
Meet outside Southall Station to join the project team and begin the trail. Visitors can collect a free Southall Stories Art Trail Map.
3.30pm–4.15pm
A guided tour of artworks at Merrick Road Footbridge, Norwood Road Bridge and the Dominion Centre, accompanied by members of the project team.
4.15pm–5pm
Head to the Dominion Centre & Library to meet some of the artists, see the launch exhibition and hear from the project team and local councillors. Refreshments will also be available.
5pm–6pm
Creative workshops with public art creatives Haffendi and Shirin, offering visitors the chance to learn more about their installations and take part in activities suitable for all ages.
5pm–7pm
Music from DJ Kaylan, who was involved in one of the artists' working groups that helped develop the manja seating installation on Southall Broadway.

The launch provides an opportunity to explore Southall's new public artwork, meet the people behind the project and take part in the creative programme.
