Southall operation leads to arrests and weapons seized

Sat 22 Aug 2026
A joint operation involving police and council enforcement officers has resulted in arrests and weapons being seized during work to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Southall.

The operation followed concerns raised by local residents and businesses about problems affecting parts of Southall town centre. Ealing Council, the Metropolitan Police, the NHS and other local services have been working together as part of the response.

The four-week operation ran from 13 July to 9 August 2026. According to figures reported by Ealing.News, police made 134 arrests and seized 13 weapons during the operation.

Ealing Council increased patrols by its Parkguard service and used CCTV to help identify and respond to incidents.

Police and council officers also focused on people involved in repeated anti-social behaviour. This resulted in criminal investigations, prison recalls, injunctions and the use of dispersal powers.

Support for vulnerable people

The operation also identified people who needed support. Ealing Council said almost half of those identified through its Parkguard work were considered vulnerable.

Some were experiencing homelessness, addiction, poor physical or mental health, or difficult housing circumstances.

Alongside enforcement action, local organisations have continued to provide outreach, treatment, safeguarding and other support.

The police and council say they will continue working with local partners and using information from residents to target crime and anti-social behaviour in Southall.
