A gathering will take place at the Southall War Memorial on The Green to honour and pay tribute to the men and women who have lost their lives in conflicts past and present.

On Sunday, 9 November 2025, Remembrance Sunday services will be held across the borough. Residents are invited to attend their local commemoration, with a ceremony planned in Southall among others across the borough.

The service at 11 am is expected to be led by Revd Canon Mark Poulson, Associate Vicar of St John’s Church, Southall. A two-minute silence will be observed to remember all those who have given their lives in service.

A guest of honour will lay the first wreath at the memorial, followed by members of the public, community groups, and organisations who wish to pay their respects.

Following the ceremony, attendees are warmly invited to a short civic service at St John’s Church on Church Avenue, where refreshments will be served.

Similar Remembrance services will also take place elsewhere in the borough.

In Ealing, the borough’s largest ceremony is traditionally held at the Ealing War Memorial on Ealing Green. The event will be attended by the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Anthony Kelly, and will include a two-minute silence at 11 am. He will be joined by the King’s representative, Deputy Lieutenant Richard Kornicki, and Council Leader Peter Mason.

In Greenford, members of the Royal British Legion are expected to march from their headquarters on Oldfield Lane South to the Greenford War Memorial for a public service at 11 am.

For those who may not be aware, it is important to remember the significant contributions made by soldiers from diverse backgrounds during the World Wars.

An estimated 1.5 million Muslim soldiers lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars.

More than 161,000 Indian soldiers also died in combat across both conflicts.

Over 83,000 Sikh soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice during the two World Wars.

"A respectful service in Southall involving all faiths, cultures and backgrounds. We will remember them."

"We come together to pay our respects."
