Tackling Violence Affecting Young People in Southall and Norwood Green: Report Launch
The Young Ealing Foundation were commissioned by the VRU’s My Ends funding, in 2022, to research the experiences of violence impacting young people in Southall and Norwood Green.
The subsequent report explores what makes young people feel unsafe in their community, and what some of the potential solutions are.
Using the input of Young People, we have been able to produce clear recommendations to address the issues raised in the research.
We want to support the voluntary and statutory sectors to work together to ensure that Southall is an area where young people feel safe to achieve and live their best lives.
We will be holding an official launch to present the report’s findings in further detail and discuss how we can collectively start to action these recommendations.
Ultimately, no organisation in the borough can achieve this alone – we must ensure that we approach the issue of tackling youth violence holistically, with statutory and community groups coming together to provide welcoming, safe spaces and access to empathetic, empowering, trusted relationships for children and young people.
The launch will take place on Thursday 9th February 3.30pm – 5pm at Dormers Wells High School
