Villiers school pupils strike over teacher sacking
Tue 08 Feb 2011Head teacher Juliet Strang said that the teacher was sacked on Monday after an internal investigation.
This is not the first attempt to sack him. A previous "orchestrated campaign” to sack him over performance were unsuccessful.
It is common knowledge among Villiers School pupils and teachers that Juliet Strang has been trying to fire this particular teacher. They were protesting to show support for the much respected teacher who is the head of the Maths department.
It was only recently that most of Villiers teaching staff went on strike over imposed changes and “bullying” by the Head teacher.
She only listened to them on the day of strike and publically stated that she accepted all their demands.
But she is still trying to sack the same teacher, who refuses to be bullied. There was trouble outside the school last Friday and on Monday after school. From 8:20 am today, all students boycotted most of their lessons in protest at the "unfair" sacking.
Year 10 and 11 students will not be allowed to go to school tomorrow in case they continue to protest.
According to Juliet Strang "There are people with bigger political agendas who are out to destroy the school. They are from outside the school but they have created a situation inside the school."
Most of her teaching staff went on strike recently.
Most of the students are protesting at the sacking.
It can only be an internal political agenda.
The one person they all blame is the Head Teacher Juliet Strang.
2 teacher strikes are planned for next week over ongoing issues. If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
